Happy Mother's Day to me!

Wow, what a day! I got to sleep in (first because my baby slept in, but then because my hubby let me!) My mom gave me a VERY special gift, that I hope to share with you all someday. Trevor got me a MASSAGE!!! (I haven't gotten the massage yet, I get to choose when.) We took Declan swimming and he love, Love, LOVED it! We have a small "kiddie" pool at our complex, so we just took him there. I didn't get in with him, but I wish I had. And now.......one of the hardest things we've done yet......we put Declan to sleep in his crib. For the first time. In his own room. He went down pretty ok, but after a little bit, he started freaking out a bit more. And then he got really upset, so I went in a held him for a little while. Then, whenever I tried to put him down, he would cry so hard he almost couldn't breathe. Which of course freaked me out, and I would pick him up again. Finally I just had to let him cry....and of course he fell asleep. So I guess we'll see how the night goes, and if that goes ok, we'll see how the morning goes. I won't have my alarm clock there and.....yup, there it is, the tears are coming. We've really let it get too far, and this is going to be a lot harder than it should have been. But, it's something that needs to happen, he can't share our room and sleep in a play pen till he's 18.....right? :) All in all, a wonderful first Mother's Day. I hope all you mommas out there had a wonderful day, too!
A little tentative at first.....

But he soon learned he LOVED it!

A little splashy in the face!

D got a little owie on his nose from his sippy cup. Who knew sippy cups could give owies! :)

I love his lashes in these 3:

I love his face, here he is doing his Brando impression.
I'm really, really, really going to miss this.....

I've felt your pain. It's no fun watching them grow up - that includes them moving into their "big boy beds". I doubt he would mind if you hopped in his crib with him. Might be cozy. :)

Trevor "tried" to get in bed with him the other night and in his jest, he woke him up! Dec went back to sleep well but still....we learned our lesson!! :)

I know its hard to let the littles grow up!! Just like anything else he just needs a little adjustment time and he'll be fine. He still has YOU ever day. Remember that. He'll be fine.....and you'll probably be fine too.....baby steps. :)
