Happy Birthday to Me!!

Today is (or at this point, was) my birthday! I turned 28.....on the 28th....in 2008! I (because I am such a dork) have been looking forward to this birthday my whole life. I just think it's fun when you turn the age of your birthdate, and now I have! I've heard the term "Golden Birthday" a lot today, so I guess I'm not the only dork! :)

I didn't want to try and plan anything this year, just wanted to have fun with my little family, so the easiest thing to do was Disneyland! My dad works there so he signed us in! Yeah for FREE! :) We didn't get there until 5 because Trevor still had to work today, and I took my sweet time shopping and getting ready, and then the park closed at 8, so we only had 3 hours but that was surely enough! My dad hung out with us....which was wonderful because we got to go on a couple rides!! My main craving when I was pregnant was to go on a rollercoaster! I finally got to fullfill that craving! :) We did Space Mountain, and my favorite: Thunder Mountian, aka the Death Ride. :) Then Danny, Grace, and Hope joined us cause they had passes, and we went on the Nemo Submarine.....ehh. Just watch the movie, it's WAY better! It was a fun night, I'm glad more family was able to join us.

Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch 2008

We went to a pumpkin patch today with our friends from church, Colin & Sandra, Jared, Adrieanna, & Abigail, Paula, and Paul. (I'll have a group picture to post hopefully soon!) We didn't get pumpkins (they're freaking expensive at the patches!) but we had a lot of fun taking pictures, walking through a "corn maze" (more like corn circled paths to a little sunflower garden), picking veggies, and watching pumpkins get launched from a cannon! Check out the fun:

Daddy and Dec walking in the corn maze

Family pictures with corn...

Daddy and Dec....singing?

Dec making a silly face for Jared

Mommies and babies

Look who's sitting up!!!

Dec in a wheelbarrow-o-fun!

Dec in his funny matching hat!

Adrieanna and I thought we could join in the fun. Actually, Adrieanna and my hair apparently! :)

Such a long day! Someone got tired...

And this is the face he's been making lately. I LOVE IT!

Then and Now, Part 1

What a difference 3 and a half months make!

Almost 6 weeks:

Almost 5 months:

He may soon outgrow the swing, but he still loves it!! :)

I got tagged....

My friend Kara "tagged" me, so I guess I'm supposed to write a blog about all the things Trevor loves. So here goes....

Declan's Laughter

Manchester United

Playing football

Travelling

Snowboarding

And a lot more....hanging out with friends and family, sports-watching and playing, too many TV shows (I've been a bad influence, I think!), video and computer games....oh yeah, and ME! :)

Now it's my turn to tag: Becky, Brianne, Gina, Katie, Melissa, and Ali! :) Have fun girls!

5 Months!

5 months ago today my beautiful baby boy was born! Right at this moment too! It has been the best change in my life! It has been the hardest change, but the most worthwhile! I love him so much, and I am so blessed to have him in my life! Trevor and I are the luckiest parents, and we are so thankful to God for our gorgeous son!

P.S. I was able to weigh Declan the other day, and he is now over 15lbs! Big Boy!

Walckerfest 2008

Last weekend, we were invited over to Larissa's family's house to celebrate Oktoberfest. They are from Germany. Hence, they celebrate Oktoberfest. They are the Walcker Family. Hence, Walckerfest. :) It was technically the First Annual Walckerfest, so we look forward to many more years of eating sausage, drinking beer, and hanging out with family! Oh yeah, and dressing up! Check this out....

Gemma wearing a Dirndl

Chris in t-shirt Lederhosen....and a hat...

Trevor in plastic Lederhosen, drinking his favorite: Hofbrau

Um, yes....the ladies wore these.....

And there was this to wear, too. Declan is playing with a German toy rattle!

We got Hope in some head wear, she doesn't seem too excited by either....oh well!

This is the best shot I got of Larissa's mom, Ulrike, in her apron! :)

My cutie!

Declan was given an outfit from the Walcker's when he was born and this was the first time he was big enough to wear it. Good timing! :) It has a horse on it, a tail on the butt, and socks with "tails" as well! The tag says "eieio" and the front of the shirt says "Everywhere a Neigh Neigh". There is also a "Neigh" on his back, his butt, and all over his socks. At dinner with our friends that night, I was holding D and looking at his outfit. I noticed all the "neighs" and said "Man there are a lot of 'neighs' on this thing." And then Chantel pointed out to me, "Becky....'everywhere a neigh neigh.' " What a smart friend! It made my day!

My Bonsai Family Tree

I realize that not everyone that reads this blog is family, or knows who my family is. Since I will be referencing them often, I'd like to do a little "family tree".....

Becky's Family:
Dave and Joyce (parents)
Chris, Larissa, and Gemma (brother, sister-in-law, niece)
Danny, Grace, Hope, and Baby (brother, sister-in-law, niece, niece or nephew....we'll find out soon!)
Trevor's Family:
Ardi, Gary, and Nina (mom, dad, and step-mom)
Dawn, Jason, Avery, Jack, and Luke (sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew, and nephew)
Danica, Hugo, Ethan, and Bella (sister, brother-in-law, nephew, and niece)

In case you didn't notice, that's 7 (almost 8) cousins and counting! Yikes! Christmas gets more and more expensive every year! And now we have our own child, too! But we love them all! We unfortunately don't get to see Dawn and Fam all that often as they are in Texas, but we hope to see them soon! They have yet to meet Bella and Declan, and we haven't met Luke. :( Soon!

I don't expect you to remember all this, it's more for me, so I don't have to constantly type "my sister-in-law" and have you guessing which of the 4 I am referring to! Of course there is more extended family, but this will be who I mention most often. We are blessed that the majority of our family lives close and we see them as much as we can. We love our family!!

And because it's hard for me to post a blog without pictures of D, here's a series of shots: What do you get when you place a baby in a swing and put a burp cloth on his lap?

A baby with a burp cloth on his head!

Motivation anyone?

While at church today, I had a lady come up to me and ask me if I was having a boy or girl.

Ouch.

It turns out, she knew I had been pregnant, but didn't know if I had the baby or not, and she was wanting to give me some clothes if I had a boy.

Still.....

Some other zingers I've gotten since I HAVEN'T been pregnant:

"You look so good! What month are you in?"
"Why are you still waddling?"

Seriously people? At least this latest offence had a purpose, and when she noticed her faux paux she apologized, and had the decency to appear like she actually was sorry. (I think I felt worse for her! How horrible she must have felt!)

So anyway, what a huge slap in the face of motivation I have received! Expect to see a new me in the future! A less-pregnant looking me that is.....unless of course I become pregnant again. But that shouldn't be for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG while my friends!

Someone's getting frisky!!

At Declan's 4 month appointment I noticed this on his arm:

I got kinda freaked out, and asked the Dr. about it. She said it looks like a scratch, but the skin was smooth and it wasn't bleeding. Nothing to worry about. The next day it had "grown" and was "travelling up his arm." I was getting more worried........until I saw this:

That's right. Declan was giving himself hickeys! Goodness! What a frisky little boy! :)

Adventure Updates

Hey everyone! I know I'm not the best at blogging in a timely manner. (Although, I have to say I've been a lot better these past couple weeks!) Back when I started, I knew that some of you would check my blog and not see anything for a LONG time and would stop checking. Well, check no more! I've added a handy subscription....thing....to my blog! All you have to do is enter your e-mail address, you'll get an e-mail from FeedBurner to confirm your subscription, and then you'll get an e-mail every time I publish a new post! I got the idea from my friend Kara, and I LOVE when I get an e-mail that she has a new post. (It could be because I love her children and more pictures of them make my day......thanks Kara!) Also, I may be making my blog private in the near future, so if you want to be able to see it, I'll need your e-mail address to do so. And big thanks to Jake for helping me figure out FeedBurner and getting this started!

P.S. What good is a post from me without any pictures of D? Not good. Here's one of him at 8 days old. Another nod to Jake, one of our wonderful photographer friends, who took this picture.

Unnecessary Onesies

We have a wonderful family! And with them we have gotten wonderful extended family! My sister-in-law Grace's sister April gave us these super cute and funny onesies:

Single and Loving it! (I love his sleepy eyes in this one!)

Adorable little boy seeking precious little girl. Must love naps and have her own stroller. Crawlers welcome.

Mr. Right in Training

Available for Playdates

My favorite.....Ladies Man!

So why are these unnecessary? Well you see, my darling boy already has a girlfriend. :) And a wife if we have something to say about it! Here he is with his beloved, Abigail.

I like how his arm is behind her and his face says "Yeah, that's my woman." And see, she loves him too! :)

One more, because I love his face in this one!
